Floral Dress of the Dead

Inspiration

Inspired by the three emblematic flowers of the Day of the Dead: the cloud, the lion’s flower and the cempasúchil.

Cloud: With its small and delicate white flowers, the cloud symbolizes the purity and memory of deceased children. It is used on the altars to represent innocence and light.

Lion flower: Also known as Chinese carnation, this red or orange flower symbolizes strength and power. It is used in offerings to honor the deceased adults and represent their vitality.

Cempasúchil: Known as the flower of the dead, its vibrant orange and yellow petals guide the souls of the deceased to the altars with its aroma and color. It is essential in offerings for its ability to attract and guide spirits.

Each of these flowers plays a crucial role in the celebration, creating a bridge between the living and the dead through their symbolism and beauty.
